About Me....

Hey folks!
Hmmm....About Me, about me.   Let's see.....My name is Melissa, but most people just call me Mel.  I am happily married to Miguel. (short story:  he in NOT Hispanic.  My friends that have never met him before freak out a little bit when they finally see him and then they say, "uhhm, Mel, what's the story. His name is Miguel but he doesn't look Hispanic." His name is Michael, and since I AM Hispanic I've called him Miguel from day one.  I just liked it better than Michael or Mike.  Ever since, most of his friends call him the same too)  We have 2 dogs (blue heelers aka cattle dogs), Chula and Sidney. We hand picked Chula from a litter when she was 6weeks old.  She's driven us absolutely nuts ever since. (she's is almost 11 yo now). About 4 yrs ago my husband was out at a rock quarry for work and Sidney jumped in the bed of the truck and wouldn't get out.  As he drove out of the quarry there was a black lab that followed the truck all the way out.  He brought her home and she immediately became a part of the family. Super sweet. Six weeks later she had 9 pups. :\ Some of them looked like little black labs.  Hmmmph! We also have 2 children, Courtney and Dane.  We have truly been blessed with these little folks.  One is quiet, laid back, always aims to please, and the other is loud, obnoxious, bossy, and has all the answers. Good times, good times. They're awesome kids and so much fun. I'm sure you'll see and hear more about everyone as the blog rolls on.

My testimony:

I am a lover of Jesus.  Growing up was confusing because I was taught that there were all these rules you have to follow.  You have to do this, and you have to do that.  Honestly I didn't get anything out of being there.  I always left church feeling judged and condemned. BUT!  It did plant a seed in me that has grown so much.  I knew that he was there. Listening. Wanting the best for me. Loving me. Now that I'm grown and have found an awesome church home, I know that it's not about rules.  It's about my relationship with him.  His love for me and mine for him.  Yeah, the bible is our rule book of life.  It's our guide.  It's what we use for reference.  But we are all sinners, somehow or in some way.  We're not perfect.  Never will be.  The fact is that despite all of it, he still wants a relationship with us.  When you nurture that relationship by talking to him, reading his word for guidance, and praying for continued wisdom, it leads you to such a blessed life that you can't even begin to put it all on paper.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't spend quality time with him.  If it's a busy day, then I at least put my music on and just praise and worship him in whatever I'm doing.  He deserves all the glory and it just puts a lump in my throat when I think about how much he loves all of us.  One of my favorite songs is Forever Reign.  It really says it all.  When you have a few minutes, here's a video of Kristian Stanfill singing it. Love it.  I feel his love so much when I sing it.  Brings tears to my eyes each and every time.  If you're not crazy about the "Live" version, there's other you tube videos out there with just the song and lyrics. I know there are some folks that don't get "praise & worship.  They'll even say, "I just don't get it, enough already." Here's what I think of it: Think of your spouse or your kids.  How much you love them and how much they love you.  Think of a time when you hear a song that says exactly how you feel about one of them.  If you could sing it from the rooftops to them and let the world know how you feel, you would.  The relationship that you have with them is so special, unlike any other relationship you've ever had.  That's how praise and worship is for me.

Back to the blog:
Things I love:

  • Photography (started my own business about 6yrs ago and just started getting serious about it in the last few years)
  • Trying out new recipes
  • Quilting
  • Sewing
  • All things Crafts
  • Dancing or "gettin' my groove on".  Sometimes if I'm really feeling it, I get a little crazy in the car.
  • Latin music
  • Any other music that allows my hips and shoulders to take over. Although I hate it when they have to get nasty with the lyrics.  What's that about?  I'm not trying to hate on anybody, but please!  I would like to continue my car dancing with the kids, without having to turn the volume down in certain parts of the song.  Geeez!  I think that's part of why I like the Latin music so much.  Not only are they awesome jams, but the kids have no idea what they're saying and I can keep on bustin' a move.
  • Salted caramel
  • Fudge
  • There is so much more....I'll update as I think of them  :)

As I type up new posts for the blog, I will be talking about all of these things that I enjoy doing.  I'll be sharing tutorials on many of these subjects and just having fun with it.  I hope you enjoy sharing the ride with me! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh!  And the name, Honey 4 Everyone!  My name means "honeybee" and because of that I love honeybees, things that have honeybees on them, and just honey in general.  Yum!  So, here I am just trying to spread a little sweetness to the blog world!
